This step is critical, after all the entire goal here is to sell your product or idea. This is also the easiest step in the process. The most widely used payment vehicle for e-commerce is PayPal, although Google has introduced it's own payment services. With Paypal it is easy to set up an account, but you will need a premier account at minimum if you want to accept payments from customers. PayPal will allow you to accept credit or debit card payments from customers. You can then transfer your PayPal account balance to your checking or savings account. There is a cost per transaction fee in the form of a percentage, but is worth the cost when you think of the alternative which is building your own payment vehicle.
